Poney Poney started as a solo project involving Antoine, a guitar and an iPod. After two concerts, the trusty mp3 player got stolen. Antoine took this as a sign that he had to invite some humans to join him: enter Florent and Samuel on bass and drums. “AM Music” and “By The Numbers” were recorded pretty quickly after that, with Xavier de Rosnay (of Justice fame) producing. The band started playing here and there, sharing the bill with 2 Many DJs, Justice, C.S.S., Sébastien Tellier, Midnight Juggernauts, These New Puritans, Ratatat, and many other really cool bands. Then Arcade Mode released “Junior” in its 7” singles series and “Cross The Fader”, also produced by Xavier, followed on Perspex Recordings. Poney Poney is now a duo and it’s time for a sophomore record, out on
Institubes new pop imprint, Unsunned. It's called “When Do You Wanna Stop Working?” and was produced by Para One. Please refer to the handy graphics below to see what it’s about.

“WDYWSW? is a slice of high-energy powerpop, with affecting agitprop lyrics asking one of the most relevant questions of our troubled times. Parisian genius Rob totally flips the script by translating the song into the sad, plaintive language of late-night soul-searching. And thanks to Pacific!’s elegant pop version, the sun is beaming from Sweden.
Poney Poney's first album is being recorded right now, with Xavier de Rosnay still rolling for the band. Beware.
